Understand what you can see, feel what you can hear, see what you are touching
The main objective of this project is to motivate our students toward the study of physics. We propose to do this by preparing a Magic Physics Show in both schools that will be prepared by the students. Also, the students involved in this project will communicate with eachother using email and chat services. They will exchange small films and electronic presentations about their school, living environment, field trips and other activities that involve the study of science.
Aims:
We aim to: motivate our students to study physics; improve ICT skills of our students; improve the use of a foreign language (english); to explore the differences and simularities in the Portuguese,Turkey and Polish culture.
Work process:
The project is scheduled as follows:
1. Presenting groups of participating schools – getting to know each other and our regions.
2. Part I Understand what you see:
a) pictures showing physical phenomena
b) preparing presentation of those phenomena
3. Part II Feel what you hear
a) preparing experiments which stimulate hearing
b) preparing rebuses and crosswords about the experiments
4. Part III See what you touch
a) preparing shows using everyday objects and tools organized in the classroom
b) preparing photos and descriptions of the experiments
5. Part IV Outlying the scenario for Show Physics
a) selecting students
b) appointing tasks
6. Part V Preparing for the Show
a) rehearsing the roles
b) preparing costumes and stage design
7. Part VI Show for the entire local community
8. Part VII Trip” Understand, feel, see”
a) Science Museum – interactive experiments - Astronomical observatory
b) taking photos and filming
c) 3D film – Station Cosmic (Poland)
d) visiting physics or chemistry laboratory
e) meeting a Noble prize winner: documents (photos, films, interview) – Poland
Expected results:
At the end of the project we pretend: to produce a Magic Physics Show in each school; to publish the photographs, films and electronic presentations in a website created for this project.
